John Moylan
Biography
John is one of Western Australia's most respected and experienced motor vehicle instructors with an extensive background in both Rider and Driver training and education.
He has been riding motorcycles since he was twelve. A self-taught trail bike and moto-cross rider John learnt to ride hard and fast in order to be competitive at Moto-X. John joined the Western Australian Police Force in his late teens. His love of riding led him to become a Traffic Patrolman where he received his first formal training in Pursuit Riding and Pursuit Driving.
After several years of traffic patrol work he became a member of the Police Driver Training Unit responsible for training Police Officers and Special Air Services soldiers in driving and riding everything from motorcycles and quads and four wheel drives. He was an inaugral member of the Police Precision Riding Team.
Before leaving the the Police Service John spent some time attending serious and fatal crashes as a member of the Police Service's Serious Crash Investigation team. Situations he confronted in that role inspired him to dedicate his career to improving Western Australians' riding and driving skills to make our roads safer.
Over the last decade John has been involved in Corporate Driver Training throughout Australia in both training and training development for a number of mining and other major corporations.
John has been part of the Alert team for the last four years as a Manager, Instructor and Instructor Trainer.
