David Palmer
Biography
David has been riding for nearly thirty years. He has completed a number of advanced motorcycle riding courses both here and in Sydney. He learned to ride in traffic in his final year of high school where he daily commuted 70 kilometres into the city and back from his home on the far north shore. He has ridden in places as diverse as New Delhi, Bangkok and London and has traveled by motorcycle extensively in Australia.
Prior to working with Alert he had considerable adult teaching experience through his position as the Head of the Production and Design Department of The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts where he developed and managed curriculum and assessment processes for a number of technical courses for nearly a decade.
He began instructing for Alert whilst he studied Web Development at TAFE. When the opportunity arose at the conclusion of his studies to purchase Alert from its founders he did not hesitate. He has a lifelong love of riding and a deep commitment to making motorcycling as safe as it is enjoyable.
He has two children, a boy and a girl. His partner of more than twenty years has finally got her R class motorcycle license.
